Refunds and cancellation

Who refunds what: the seller for marketplace goods, CoreTrust only for fees we actually received.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

1. Who the supplier is

For a product or service listed by a user, that user is the supplier. CoreTrust supplies the software platform. Cooling-off and quality rights for the goods themselves are primarily against the seller. We will help you contact them and, where the payment provider allows, request a reversal. We cannot promise that money already paid out to a seller will come back.

2. Demo checkout

When Paystack is off, CoreTrust does not collect payment. Orders are recorded for tracking. Cancel or refund directly with the other party. ECTA cooling-off does not apply to a payment we never collected.

3. Paystack (when enabled)

You pay via Paystack under its terms. Settlement is typically a split to the seller's subaccount, not a hold by CoreTrust. Chargebacks follow Paystack and your card issuer.

To ask for a cancellation or refund: email info@coretrust.tech from your registered address with the order reference. We will: (1) tell the seller; (2) request a Paystack refund or reversal if that API still allows it; (3) tell you the outcome. If the seller has already been paid and Paystack cannot reverse, you must recover from the seller (and you keep CPA/quality rights against that seller where they apply).

4. Escrow

Escrow of real ZAR is not live. We do not hold or refund live escrow funds because we do not hold them.

5. South Africa — ECTA cooling-off

ECTA s44 (seven business days, with statutory exceptions) applies where you are a consumer and you conclude an electronic transaction with a supplier of those goods or services. For marketplace goods, that supplier is the seller. For a fee you paid to CoreTrust for the platform itself, CoreTrust is the supplier of that service.

If we failed to provide ECTA s43 information before you paid CoreTrust a platform fee, you may have a 14-day cancellation right under ECTA s43(3) for that fee.

Before you pay, checkout lets you review the cart, change items, and leave. After you confirm, email us as above.

6. Zimbabwe

Where the Consumer Protection Act [Chapter 14:14] gives you a cooling-off, cancellation, or quality right for the type of contract you entered, that period and those exceptions apply. Email info@coretrust.tech to exercise them. For goods bought from another user, that user is the supplier. You may also approach the Consumer Protection Commission or another competent authority.

7. Platform fees

Account creation is free. Beta platform commission is 0% until we notify you otherwise. If you later pay CoreTrust a platform or subscription fee, we will refund it where the CPA or ECTA requires, or as shown at the time of purchase.

8. How to complain

Use in-app support or info@coretrust.tech. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and respond within fifteen. South African consumers: National Consumer Commission (thencc.gov.za). Also see our Terms.
